Pacific are a privately owned, Basingstoke-based, IT and Audio Visual Solution Provider with a 25-year+ track record of great service and innovative approaches to business problems. The range of our services run from the provision of outsourced IT functions such as our IT Service Desk, to the design, installation and support of Audio Visual for themed attractions, via Corporate AV with boardroom fit-outs and video-conferencing, and Education environments with the latest learning tools. It’s all underpinned with our ISO9001/14001-certified management systems, our participation in major purchasing frameworks, and our own, award-winning, system and service designs.

What we need…

The AV IT Field Engineer works on our customer sites around the UK, supporting AV solutions, testing them, fixing them as necessary and demonstrating them to our customers. You would normally work on your own, teaming up with colleagues sometimes for specific jobs. The work ranges straightforward swaps of components that have been diagnosed as faulty, to investigating the causes of problems on site with the users, or supporting users with using technology at events, or simply testing that everything is still functioning in preventative maintenance visits.

The kinds of installations we support include large format screens or projectors, video cameras, microphones and speakers, printers, PC’s chip and pin readers, Android scanners, Wifi and network solutions and even interactive games in visitor attractions.

We work at various stages of projects, so sometimes the work may be on a building site at the early stages of a project, or in completed workplaces, education facilities, or public spaces like shops, working around users.

Our work takes us around the UK, and occasionally further afield….

Who we think will be a great fit…

We are looking for someone who is based from our Basingstoke office, who takes pride in delivering a great solution to our clients, who is flexible enough to deal with different challenges on site that may be faced. You will need the following;

  • Driving license to enable you to drive vans to sites
  • Practical skills – you will be working with tools to mount/unmount screens etc. and in warehouse type environments
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, AV and IT technical skills
  • Presentable and articulate to work with end-users to solve their problems

What you get…

We are offering a salary of c.£25k pa based on existing experience and knowledge, with 23 days holiday, pension scheme, opportunities for overtime, and training for some of the necessary H&S qualifications (such as ECS) as needed.
